Hiya, and welcome to my site!
My name is Rowan, and this is my safe little corner of the internet. Just in case you missed out on the latest developments, the weather outside is dire, and the world is kind of ending. This site curates all the art, charms and curiosities that will keep me sane during societal collapse.
Please explore, take all the elements you fancy and adorn your digital homes with them - we’re all socialists here - and leave me your beautiful thoughts in the guestbook.
Resistance and solidarity always xx
Many thanks to petrapixel for their amazing layout generator, which I used to create this website - and to learn how to code!![]()
About Me
I have several special interests and hobbies, and I spend a significant amount of my free time on creative writing, reading, listening to music and going to gigs, and playing video games. I am very passionate about the internet, which is where I acquired English as my second language; one of my goals for 2026 has thus become learning how to code. And this takes us to this website!
I’m a green socialist, and when I’m not working or messing around on my computer, I volunteer in support of a number of causes, including women’s rights, rejecting techno-capitalism, and protecting and showing up for marginalised communities wherever possible. All it takes is peeking through my site to know where I stand!
I’m so excited for you to be here, reading this. Hope you enjoy your visit to my website!
A string of random facts about me
1. I was raised in a conservative Christian environment. Even though I enjoyed going to church and read the Bible, I’ve moved away from Orthodox Christianity as I’ve become more politically conscious, and have been an atheist for the past 2 years.
2. I was diagnosed with autism when I was 27, and a good chunk of my life at the moment is heavily influenced by my journey of understanding my brain and experiences through the lens of my neurodivergence. Learning how to code and delving into the old web are ways in which I unmask, cherish my special interests, and honour my inner child.
3. I have 7 tattoos, and plans to get many more (including a sleeve on one of my arms).
4. I experience powerful synaesthesia, which makes listening to music all the more exciting - and draining! I often have to take breaks from listening to music because of the powerful images and sensations it causes for me. I also listen to ‘safe’ music instead, mainly 40s and 50s jazz and blues, and 90s synthwave.
5. I lift weights and run, and will be running my first official race in September of this year. I also enjoy rollerskating, and later this year want to learn swimming and pole dancing.
6. Rabbits are my favourite animal, but I love all animals.
7. I’m a recovering picky eater, and the biggest catalyst to ‘unblocking’ eating for me was going vegetarian. I’ve had the chance to learn easy recipes from scratch and personalise them to my liking, I also explored cooking towards various textures that feel ‘safe’ to me.
8. I collect novelty earrings, and have recently begun collecting novelty songs.
